Alicia Rubio

Vocalist and Violinist

Alicia is a recent graduate with a Master's in Latin Music with a concentration in mariachi vocal performance from Texas State University, where she studied under the direction of the award-winning mariachi vocal specialist Professor Michelle Quintero. Alicia Rubio received a Certificate of Proficiency in Music: Mariachi Specialization from Southwestern Community College in 2014. In 2016, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music, Concentration in Performance from The Bob Cole Conservatory, where she studied classical violin under the direction of Andrea Byers. Furthermore, in 2018, she completed the equivalent coursework to a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Instrumental Music from California State University, Long Beach. Throughout her performance career, Alicia has played with prominent artists and participated in various musical productions, most notably playing with Two-Time Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea since 2018. Alicia also has ample teaching experience, teaching students from TK-12 in public schools and private settings for over 19 years.  She is also a violinist for San Marcos Artist Retention and Training Orchestra, a private violin and viola instructor for RNT music, a mariachi instructor for Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos, and an active mariachi clinician and adjudicator in central Texas.
